Ford C-MAX Energi Rated at 108 MPGe

Ford C MAX Energi at Ford C MAX Energi Rated at 108 MPGeThe new Ford C-MAX Energi is now officially America’s most fuel-efficient plug-in hybrid, as EPA rated it at an astonishing 108 MPG equivalent in the city. The combined rating is an equally impressive 100 MPGe. That, in plain English, means you will be paying about 70 percent less for fuel compared to a similarly sized gasoline car.

The C-MAX Energi is priced from $29,995, which is not exactly cheap, but even so, it’s America’s most affordable hybrid car right now. What’s more, Ford says this car will save you nearly $7000 in fuel costs in five years. So it’s very wallet-friendly this car.

Besides a brilliant hybrid powertrain, the Energi also features lots of fuel saving measures that contribute to its great efficiency. It comes with an ECO Cruise mode which saves vehicle energy by relaxing acceleration compared to standard cruise control, an EV mode button to switch immediately to electric drive, Regenerative braking, hybrid transmission, and Advanced Lithium-ion batteries with an eight-year warranty.

Ford C-MAX Energi is the company’s first production plug-in hybrid, but from 2013 it will be joined by a couple more, including Fusion Energi plug-in hybrid and Ford Focus Electric.
