Jaguar is already considering launching a coupe version of the recently revealed F-Type sports car. They say it’s logical to make a hardtop version, and it would be just as good as the roadster. And that makes perfect sense. The F-Type, after all, started life as the C-X16 concept, which is a coupe, and a fairly handsome one.

Of course, a car with the F-Type’s ingredients should be a drop-top sports car; it’s more fun that way. But some people might not like a soft-top. The F-Type Coupe will offer all the good things of the roadster – including the great engines, rear-drive chassis, fabulous noise, awesome interior, and lots of luxury equipment – plus the security of the a solid roof.

And then there’s the looks. The Coupe should also be a looker, on the the evidence of what we saw with the Jaguar C-X16 concept. It is a hugely appealing prospect. Jaguar will almost certainly make the Coupe. In fact, it’s just a question of when rather than if.
