With the new generation of Dacia Logan now in the market, Renault updated their own version of the car which they sell in markets like Turkey, Algeria and Tunisia. It’s called the Symbol, and it’s a Logan in a slightly fancier dress. Officail debut of the car is planned for 2012 Istanbul Motor Show.
Compared to the Logan, the new Symbol features a unique front bumper which in combination with Renault’s signature grille and prominent logo, does a good job in concealing the car’s Romanian roots. It is rather pointless though, because the moment you look at the side of the car you realize where it has come from.
As with the Logan, Renault Symbol might not be the prettiest car in the world, but it is one of the best when it comes to value for money. Depending on the version, this car comes with Renault Media Nav multimedia navigation system complete with a wide, seven-inch (18cm) touchscreen colour display, USB and Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control with speed limiter, and 60/40-split folding rear bench seat.
Engine lineup includes the new TCe 90 petrol, plus the dCi 75 and dCi 90 diesels. They are all extremely frugal and very light on CO2.
