Toyota and Lexus released the first official teaser shots of their long awaited high-performance LS model. Based on the 2013 LS luxury saloon, and built by Toyota Motorsport GmbH (TMG) in Europe, this version of the car – codenamed TS-650 – introduces Lexus to a whole new segment.

With this model – to be badged ‘LS-F’ probably – Lexus will enter the territory of BMW M5, Mercedes S63, and Porsche Panamera. But it seems to be well prepared to confront the German adversary. Rumor has it the LS-F is powered by a new twin-turbo V8 engine, another first for Lexus, developing 650 horsepower. It said to be capable of hitting 200 mph.

What’s more, the car appears to have lots of carbon fiber elements in its. You can see some of the carbon aero parts in the teaser pictures. Not sure if they’re going to remain exposed in the finished product. It even has a carbon fiber roof by the looks of things, which makes it lighter and brings the center of gravity down, thus improving the handling. The brakes also appear to be carbon ceramic. It’s the real deal!

Lexus super saloon will be unveiled at the Essen Motor Show next month.
