The new generation of Ford Transit is going to have the the greatest number of variants, given the speed at which Ford is putting out different editions. The latest offering from the Blue Oval is a sport version. That’s right, a sports van. Should be interesting!
Called the Transit Custom Sports, this van comes with sporty features such as 18-inch wheels with low profile tires, and racing stripes like those on the Ford GT. The rest of it, to be honest, is not that sporty. You get a 2.2-liter Duratorq TDCi diesel engine with 155 hp and 350 Nm of torque, and plenty of space at the back to carry stuff.
There are six metallic finishes to choose from, including Panther Black, Atlantic Blue, Moondust Silver, Midnight Sky Grey, Stratosphere Blue and Titanium Gray. The interior meanwhile gets leather upholstery, Ford SYNC and and a powerful audio system with DAB radio as standard equipment.
If Ford wants to make a real sports version of the Transit they can use the cargo space and fit it with a V12 or something. That’d be fun.
