As we reported earlier Porsche is amking a series of videos to promote the new 911 Carrera 4. In this latest episode they take us back in time and tells the story of the four-wheel-drive business. Like other great Porsche technologies we are enjoying these days in road-going models, the birth of their AWD system was in motorsport; first with the 959 super car and then the 961 race car.
The 959 was supposed to take on the monsters of Group B rallying back in its day, but before it could becomes competition ready, Group B was banned as it was deemed too dangerous for the spectators. It did take on Paris-Dakar though, and won. Then there was the 961 which became a star in Le Mans. The current Porsche 991 Carrera 4 may not be a race-winnign machine, but it has the same blood in its veins.
ce sont des super belle porsche est solide.
