Lexus LF CC Concept at Production Lexus LF CC Due In 2015

As expected Lexus confirmed that a production version of the lustrous LF-CC concept car is indeed in the works and will be revealed over the next two years. The car boosts Lexus efforts in putting on a sportier image and reinventing the company as a manufacturer of exciting machines.

The CC will be available as both coupe and cabrio versions, and will be based on the same rear-drive platform used in GS and IS models. What sets this car apart and makes it really special is a hybrid powertrain with sporty characteristics. In essence, it is the same 300bhp system used in the GS350, but it will be tweaked for use in a sports car.

The LF-CC production car can be considered as the spiritual successor to the Lexus SC coupe convertible – Top Gear’s worst car in the history of the world! Just like the old car, the new CC will be developed mainly for the American market.

Lexus is also playing with the idea of making a crossover vehicle to take on the Range Rover Evoque.
