The first images of Honda Urban SUV find their way to the web ahead of the car’s official debut at the Detroit Motor Show. This concept is Honda’s idea of a small crossover; a car that, if produced, will be gunning for the likes of Peugeot 2008, Opel Mokka, Nissan Juke and the recently revealed Renault Captur.
Like most other small crossovers, this Honda is based on a small city car platform. The Urban SUV shares its underpinnings with the new Jazz, and will be getting the same engine lineup as well. That is the main appeal of this segment. Because they are basically jacked-up versions of smaller cars they are cheap to build and cheap to buy, while offering slightly fancier looks and high-riding driving position.
Details are yet to be released by Honda.
