These are the first official pictures of the production version of Peugeot 2008 small crossover, first appeared at the 2012 Paris Motor Show as a concept. The production 2008 has changed significantly in the transition from concept to reality, but still, it has a cool and funky design.
That is exactly what it needs to succeed in this crowded segment of small crossover, where it will have to compete with cars like Nissan Juke and Opel Mokka. It is of course based on the Peugeot 208 platform, and will get a number of that car’s engines.
It will probably get the 1.2 three-cylinder and 1.6 liter four-cylinder petrol, and a 1.6 liter eHDI diesel unit with different outputs. FWD will be standard on basic models, with AWD available as an option.
Official details are expected to be released soon.
