Mazda is not a fan of big changes. They make a real effort when they are developing a new mode, so each year they don’t have to refresh it. They just tweak a recipe that works. That is the case with the 2013 Mazda5. All it gets is some new colors, and a couple of extra features.
New colors for the exterior include Zeal Red, Jet Black and Meteor Grey, while inside the cabin you get new seat trim along with the dashboard panel décor in a clean, sleek looking piano black finish.
As for the features, they start with small stuff like power folding mirrors and three-blink “lane change” turn signals, and continue with a rear parking camera and auto-dimming rear-view mirror, while a USB port, illuminated glovebox and muffler extension.
Mazda5’s good qualities such as dual sliding back doors, smooth, quiet ride, practicality and comfort remain intact in the new model.
