Thanks to guys like Ken Block and Tanner Foust, and sports like the X Games and Gymkhana, hot hatchbacks are starting to gather momentum in America. So Ford launches the new 2014 Fiesta St with a base price of $22,195, which is within the reach of most young customers.
The U.S.-spec Ford Fiesta ST is only available as a five-door, and is powered by the same 1.6 liter EcoBoost engine we get in Europe, only it is a bit more powerful – 197 horsepower and 214 lb-ft compared to 181 horsepower and 177 lb-ft.
The ST comes with a unique grille and chin spoiler with new rear diffuser and fascia extensions, as well as sport dual-exhaust pipes and high-mount spoiler along with unique 17-inch wheels. The car does 34 fun-filled miles to the gallon, thanks to its sport suspension and electronic Torque Vectoring Control.
The options list includes items like power moonroof for $795, Recaro Seats for $1995, And Ford SYNC with HD radio for 800 bucks.
