Ford’s highly anticipated new hot hatch, the Fiesta ST, enters production at the firm’s assembly line in Cologne, Germany. The 2014 Fiesta ST is going to be one of the fastest cars in its class, with a 0 to 100 km/h time of under seven seconds.
Despite its tiny little size, Fiesta ST is a serious bit of kit. It is powered by a 1.6-litre EcoBoost petrol engine rated at 182 PS and 240 Nm of torque, and makes the most of that power thanks to a range advanced features such as new chassis, steering and brakes; enhanced Torque Vectoring Control and 3-mode Electronic Stability Control.
Ford says the new ST does 0-100 km/h in 6.9 seconds and 220 km/h top speed, while returning 5.9 l/100 km and 138 g/km CO2.
Visually, the hot hatch comes with unique features like honeycomb mesh grille, dramatic rear diffuser, and Recaro seats as standard, in addition to Ford MyKey and SYNC.
