Koenigsegg’s Free Valve Concept Explained – Video

Koenigsegg Free Valve Concept 545x300 at Koenigseggs Free Valve Concept Explained Video

While Horacio Pagani is putting all his efforts into making lavishly beautiful super cars with gear sticks that are nothing short of an artwork, Christian Von Koenigsegg is more focused on technologies that make cars more powerful and more fuel efficient. One of the most interesting technologies he’s come up with is a Free Valve System which, in essence, replaces the traditional camshafts with electronically-controlled actuators.

That means you can come up with new formation for the cylinders, and that means the size of the future internal combustion engines can be smaller. Smaller size means less fuel consumption, but with this system there is not loss on power.

If someday Pagani and Koenigsegg join forces they can make the most perfect car the world has ever seen.
