Rowan Atkinson’s Crashed McLaren F1 Cost £900K to Repair

Mr Bean McLaren Crash 545x367 at Rowan Atkinsons Crashed McLaren F1 Cost £900K to Repair

You may remember back in 2011 British actor Rowan Atkinson, better known as Mr. Bean or Blackadder, crashed his McLaren F1 hyper car which used to drive extensively. More than a year later Atkinson has fixed the car, and it cost him, or rather his insurer, a hefty 900,000 GBP.

The reason for that insane bill is the F1’s ingredients. The body is made of carbon fiber which is hugely expensive to build and even more to repair. The engine is also a masterpiece with bespoke parts and a gold cover on top of it. McLaren used gold because it is the best heat conductor. Now it makes why the repair cost that much.

Financially, Mr. Bean is probably not worried at all, Not only because he is properly rich, but also because these days McLaren F1s sell for staggeringly high prices. If he decides to sell it, he will get the repair money back, and also make a sizable profit over the car’s original price.

It is not likely for Rowan to sell his beloved Mac though. He just loves driving this car. His F1 probably has the biggest mileage on it than any other in the whole word. He believes exotic cars should be driven regularly. Locking them away in air conditioned garages is depressing.
