Toyota released pricing and specifications of the new Auris Touring Sports in the UK market. The car is also built in Britain, in Toyota’s factory in Burnaston, Derbyshire. And with a base price of £15,595 it has all the bases covered for success in the old country.
The base Active version of the Auris Touring Sports launches in the UK with two engines, including a 1.33 Dual VVT-i petrol engine or a 1.4 D-4D diesel, both with six speed manual transmission.
The standard kit on this trim level include Roof Rails, 15” steel wheels, Follow me home headlamps, Automatic single-zone air conditioning, 4 speaker radio/CD with USB, connectivity, Two way, roller type luggage net, Class leading load space, 7 airbags, Vehicle Stability Control and Hill Start Assist Control. So you could argue that for under 16 grand, the car offers pretty good value.
The Icon version can be had with either a 1.8-liter hybrid system or a 1.6-liter Valvematic petrol engine with a choice of six speed manual or Multidrive S continuously variable transmission. This model starts at £18,245 and adds stuff like 17-inch wheels, DAB radio and rear-view camera.
The Sport version which comes with a sports grille, diffuser, grille and seats, start at £19,345 for the 1.6-liter Valvematic petrol, or £20,345 for the 1.4-liter D-4D diesel.
Finally, the £20,345 Excel model comes as standard with Rain sensing wipers, Dusk sensing headlamps, Power fold mirrors, Black velour seat trim with leather bolsters and seat heating function, Dual-zone climate control air conditioning, Smart entry and start system, Intelligent Park Assist, and Cruise Control with speed limiter in addition to the standard kit.
