Porsche has its own plans to celebrate the 911’s 50th birthday this year, but as the world’s oldest car magazine Autocar decided they should do a little feature on the greatest sports car of all time. So they assembled all seven generations of Porsche 911 on a snowy Silverstone track to pay their respect, and reminisce about the good old days.
Sadly, Steve Sutcliffe doesn’t get to drive all seven cars, and it doesn’t matter because the track is covered with sheet ice which means it would have been pointless anyway. But you do get to see all 911s from 1963 on, with a closer look at the first 911 press car in the UK, the 993, and the current 991.
911’s 50th anniversary celebration also includes a special feature at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.
