During the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed’s media day, Ford’s new Formula Ford-inspired EcoBoost track car made its public debut. Called the FF1, this road-legal single-seater is powered by Ford’s renowned 1.0 liter three-cylinder EcoBoost engine, and yet it can hit almost 160mph.
The lightweight track car can keep up with most 600+ horsepower super cars on the track. It’s all about the power to weight ratio. The car is also very aerodynamic, which is part of the reason why it is capable of over 100 mpg if driven normally.
The FF1 will tackle the famous Goodwood Hillclimb and it will also be on display in the FoS-TECH area during the Festival. This is a rare car that can be fascinating to both gearheads and green people alike!
Beside the FF1, Ford’s Goodwood lineup also includes the Fiesta ST and Ford GT40 models from the company’s UK heritage collection. They will take part in the moving motor show.
