RUF’s rich lineup at this year’s Geneva Motor Show include the 3800S package, a treatment for the Porsche’s mid-range sports car. What RUF does here is very clever and very simple. They take the Boxster, or the Cayman, and fit them with the 3.8 liter engine from the 911 Carrera S.
So with a 3.8 liter flat-six under the hood developing 420 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque, the little sports car become much faster and exciting to drive than the standard version. The power is sent to the rear wheels via a PDK transmission.
Now, it would have been pointless if the RUF 3800S looked like a standard Boxster/Cayman. So the tuner also came up with a styling kit, consisting of revised front and rear bumper with carbon spoiler and diffuser, sport grille, and lightweight alloy wheels finished in gloss black.
