Italian tire maker Marangoni revealed their new show car at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, and it is based on a Toyota GT-86. Called the GT86-R Marangoni Eco Explorer, the car is fully kitted out with a TRC body kit, a few tweaks for the engine, and the firm’s M-Power EvoRed tires.
Those tires are wrapped around some 19-inch wheels, and despite their red hot look they are actually quite environmentally friendly. M-Power EvoRed has managed to achieve a class B rating for rolling resistance and class A for wet braking. They improve fuel consumption without compromising the GT86’s natural driving pleasure.
The body kit on this car comes from TRC Italia, and consists of new sport bumpers, vented bonnet, carbon diffuser, side skirts, and a gloss black roof. The interior is also tricked-out, with Alcantara for the ceiling and some finishes in carbon, as well as Sparco R333 sport seats.
The power kit includes a larger stainless steel exhaust complete with 200 cell metal catalyst from Milltek, and a special Sprintfilter aluminium air box with P08 polyester filter. Together they add around 20 horsepower to the output of the car’s 2.0 liter boxer engine.
