Infiniti’s sporty M family, including Infiniti M37 and M56, have been tested for safety recently by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), and they were awarded with the “Top Safety Pick” designation. They both achieved the Institute’s highest rating of “Good” in front, side, rollover, and rear crash tests.
IIHS contributes the performance of Infiniti M models mostly to the array of high-end safety features they come with, including Lane Departure Warning and Lane Departure Prevention systems, as well as Blind Spot Warning and Blind Spot Intervention systems, Intelligent Brake Assist with Forward Collision Warning (Some of these systems are available as optional extras as part of the Technology Package).
Before this the M family, soon to be renamed to something with ‘Q’ in it, has been awarded 5-Star overall safety rating by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Currently, the lineup includes M37, M37 AWD, M56, M56 AWD and the Infiniti M Hybrid (designated M35h).
