Ferrari California Prototype Caught Testing at Fiorano – Video

The mysterious Ferrari California test mule is back under the radar, caught doing a few laps at the Fiorano race track, testing the new powertrain which is said to be a twin-turbo V8. Ferrari has not yet confirmed the use of turbochargers, but all the evidence suggest that is the case at least with the 2014 California.

Good news is, as you can clearly hear in this video, Ferrari’s turbo engines still make plenty of noise. Turbos usually tend to kill most of the engine noise because they are bolted directly to the exhaust manifold. It is harder to engineer the signature exhaust note you expect from the brand into such systems, but Ferrari seems to have pulled it off.
