The new generation Subaru Forester is not only a tough and versatile crossover that can take care of business no matter what, it is also a clever and sophisticated machine that provides its occupants with convenience and excellent safety. The car has just been awarded with a Top Safety Pick+ by IIHS.
The 2014 Forester passed all the institute’s crash tests with flying colors, achieving an overall rating of good in all criteria. This car is the first vehicle to ace every aspect of the challenging small overlap front crash test conducted by the IIHS. Its performance is contributed mostly to the reinforced frame, designed to shield and protect in a collision. Made of high-tensile-strength steel, it directs impact energy around the passenger compartment, rather than through it.
Other safety features include a total of seven airbags: front, driver knee, front-seat side, and side-curtain airbags, smart braking system, energy-absorbing collapsible steering column, and EyeSight driver assist system.
The 2014 Forester is the third Subaru vehicle to earn the TSP+ award. The 2013 Subaru Legacy and Subaru Outback.
