Jaguar Reportedly Working On A 700-hp F-Type R-S

F Type R S 1 600x412 at Jaguar Reportedly Working On A 700 hp F Type R S

The new Jaguar F-Type sports car is, even in its base V6 version, hot as hell. But there are voices at Jaguar that are pushing for an extreme version of the car with up to 700 horsepower. This hard-core version – if made – will be a coupe, probably because the construction of the roadster is not strong enough to take that kind of power.

The F-Type R-S will also be powered by a whole different system than the normal F-Type and its upcoming hardtop cousin. Some say Jaguar has revived the C-X75 plans – cancelled before on account of being too much of an overkill for today’s climate – and will probably use something similar to that in the new model.

So don’t be surprised if the F-Type R-S ended up having a small turbo engine, boosted with a couple of electric motors. In fairness, Jaguar was the first to come up with this idea for a hyper car with the C-X75, but McLaren, Ferrari and Porsche actually put it into production.

A Jaguar insider revealed to AutoExpress magazine: “we have done an R-S version with over 700 bhp that will do over 200 mph – it’s going to be insane.
