The latest market to welcome McLaren is the Southeast Asian country of Malaysia. McLaren Kuala Lumpur is the British super car maker’s seventh Asia Pacific retail location; a region that plays a major role in the Company’s plan to establish a global network of dealers.
McLaren’s Malaysian center, represented by Sime Darby Motors, will be the brand’s 41st retail location in its 25th global market within two years. This shows the depth and the strength of Ron Dennis’ plans, and how carefully they’ve been laid out. It is all working like clockwork for McLaren. They have left nothing to chance, hence the enormous success they have achieved in such a short period.
In fact McLaren has been so obsessed with careful planning and calculating stuff logically and rationally that it kind of shows in their car. In every tangible and measurable aspect, they are better than the rivals, but they lack the feel and soul of the cars made by less punctual, but more passionate brands such as Ferrari and Aston Martin.
The flagship sales gallery for Sime Darby Motors, operated by Sime Darby Auto Britannia Sdn Bhd (Auto Britannia), in Mutiara Damansara, Kuala Lumpur will be operational by September 2013, in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the McLaren brand.
