As we learned a few years ago when Top Gear revealed where they get their new Stigs, they come from a farm – aptly named the Stig Farm. So Stigs are naturally very good at dealing with agricultural machinery. Which is a good thing. Because Honda has just unveiled a 130mph lawnmower that goes from 0 to 60 in 4 seconds. Obviously, it’s been designed with the Stig in mind.
So it is only appropriate to strap the Man in White to this incredible machine, and let him loose on some ground:
Built as a fun project by Honda and their British touring car championship partner Team Dynamics, the MeanMower features a custom-built chassis and is powered by a 1.0-liter motorcycle engine from a Honda VTR Firestorm. It is also fitted with new radiators and intercoolers. The suspension system comes from an ATV, and the steering rack from a Morris Minor. The mower also has a six-speed gearbox, a sport exhaust system and Cobra sport seats.
The coolest thing about this lawnmower, apart from the virtually stock looks, is the fact that despite the sports car-busting speed, it can still cut grass rather beautifully. The Stig Farm is going to look so immaculate from now on!
