After America, Infiniti is now gearing up to launch the new Q50 sports sedan in the UK, where the car is priced from £27,950. In Britain the Q50 will be available with either a 2.2-litre diesel engine, or the highly acclaimed hybrid powertrain, which starts at £40,000.
Even the base 28 grand diesel SE version is pretty well equipped with stuff like 17-inch alloy wheels and run-flat tyres, LED lighting system, and standard Infiniti InTouch dual screen system like you get in a Range Rover. A six-speaker system featuring a single CD player, Bluetooth streaming, USB/iPod connectivity and voice-operated control is standard, but you can opt for a Bose system wit DAB radio.
After SE there is the Premium level which for £30,350 adds leather seat upholstery, auto-dimming rear view mirror, and heated front seat. Sport trim comes next, starting at £32,720, boasting sport front bumper, LED headlamps, LED daytime running lights and larger 19-inch triple-spoke lightweight alloy wheels, as well as Kacchu aluminium trim and the choice of either Graphite or Stone coloured leather.
The Sport models also benefit from Direct Adaptive Steering (DAS), ‘steer by wire’ technology, and Active Lane Control. The hybrid version is also fully equipped with all the goodies, but the real highlight of that car is the powertrain which consists of a 3.5-litre V6 engine capable of delivering 0-62mph acceleration in 5.1 seconds.
