Honda finally takes the wraps off the new Civic Tourer; a technologically-advanced small estate car developed in Europe for Europe. Despite its rather compact size, the Civic tourer offers over 600 liters of luggage space, and that’s with the rear seats up.
But practicality is not the best news about the Civic Tourer. That’d be the car’s technology features. Based on the European’s Civic’s sophisticated platform, the car will be available with a choice of 118 horsepower 1.6-liter i-DTEC engine from the Earth Dreams series, and a 140 horsepower 1.8 liter VTEC unit. You can choose between manaul or an automatic transmission.
The highlight of the Civic Tourer is its new Adaptive Damper System (ADS) for the rear suspension. A world’s first for a car of this type, it enhances stability and comfort under the varying load and driving conditions. The driver has the option of selecting between comfort, normal, and dynamic modes.
2014 Honda Civic Tourer will be built at the Swindon production facility in the UK. It will make its world public debut t the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show.
