Continuing with the GREAT campaign, which promotes British innovation and technology, McLaren and their golden boy, F1 champ Jenson Button, unveiled a new GREAT-liveried 12C. Like the previous model, the new McLaren GREAT 12C is wrapped in Union Jack.
Launched at the McLaren Technology Centre with the support of Vodafone McLaren Mercedes driver, Jenson Button, the McLaren GREAT 12C is a showcase all that is great about UK’s revitalized auto industry. After years of bad fortune and losing companies to foreign corporates, the Brits are once again regaining their position as one of the world’s top auto makers. And McLaren, who in just over two years built a massive operation and established a global sales network exporting 80% of its productions, is the spearhead of this effort.
McLaren GREAT 12C proudly reminds people that it is made entirely in the UK, with technologies taken directly from McLaren’s 50 years of experience in Formula 1, including a one-piece carbon fibre MonoCell chassis, and all-British 3.8 liter twin-turbo V8 engine that produces jaw-dropping power. It is also the pinnacle of technology, boasting features like cutting-edge technologies including Brake Steer and a Proactive Chassis Control System.
We would like it better if the Brits stuck to making fast little sports car like the good old days. But hey, they are moving along with the time, and overtake it on some occasions. The ‘Innovation is GREAT’ 12C, whose union-flag livery was designed by McLaren Racing’s graphics team, will be on tour over the coming months
