Think of this as a teaser for an upcoming full Corvette C7 review by Jay Leno. It is a short video of Jay joining GM’s VP of Global Design, and his old mate, Ed Welburn for a drive from Laguna Seca to The Quail during Monterey Week. They are heading the Corvette Caravan, consisting of a large number of old and new models, including a couple of Stingrays.
This is probably the first time we get to see the Corvette Stingray Convertible out in the real world, and if Jay’s expressions are anything to go by, the car’s pretty damn good. Check it out:
Both Corvette Stingray Coupe and Convertible are powered by an all-new 6.2L LT1 V-8 engine that combines advanced technologies, including direct injection, Active Fuel Management, continuously variable valve timing and an advanced combustion system. It generates over 460 horsepower and 450 lb.-ft. of torque (610 Nm), enabling a 0 to 60 time of under 4 seconds, while retuning 26 mpg.
The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray coupe has a suggested starting retail price of $51,995, and the Corvette Stingray Convertible starts at $56,995.
