During its 50 years of existence, Toyota Land Cruiser has never once deviated from its principle values of quality, versatility, and character. It has changed and evolved over the years, but its core values never changed. The new 2014 model follows its predecessors in that sense, while adding a few extra bells and whistles.

2014 Toyota Land Cruiser is powered by the tried and tested 5.7-liter V8 DOHC engine with 381 horsepower and 401 lb-ft of torque. It comes with a six-speed automatic transmission that handles that torque beautifully, hence the 8,500 lbs. towing capability.

The Land Cruiser’s simplicity of design makes if a great off-roader, but to improve the on-road experience, new models are fitted with Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS), which hydraulically adjusts the lean resistance provided by the front and rear stabilizer bars. The 4WD system uses a TORSEN limited-slip locking center, and utilizes the Traction control (TRAC) and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) to control the behavior of the wheels in corners. There is also a whole plethora of assis systems available, including CRAWL Control with an Off-Road Turn Assist, Downhill Assist Control (DAC), and Hill-start Assist Control (HAC).

One area that the Land Cruiser has always been great at is luxury. The car comes as standard with four-zone automatic climate control system with 28 air vents, Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC), rear privacy glass, Smart Key keyless entry with push-button start that allows the driver to unlock or start the vehicle without inserting a conventional key; anti-theft security system; engine immobilizer; cruise control; power moonroof; auto-dimming rearview and side mirrors; HomeLinkuniversal garage-door/gate opening system and steering wheel-mounted audio controls.
