Little known fact: Suzuki was one of, if not the, first car companies to make a compact SUV, better known these days as crossover. Now they have put together all they’ve learned over the years from the LJ series, to the Jimny, to the Vitara, and built this, the Suzuki iV-4 crossover.
The funky looking iV-4 really is compact, measuring 4,215mm long, and 1,850mm wide. The name, by the way, is quite meaningful: “i” stands for “individuality”, “V” for “vehicle”, and “4” for “4 wheel-drive”.
And the looks are traditional Suzuki – with straight, sleek lines, clamshell hood, five-slotted front grille – with a touch of modernity brought on large 20-inch wheels, and bright colors like Brilliant Turquoise Metallic. Suzuki says the iV-4 also has great personalization potential.
Suzuki iV-4 Crossover is not a mere concept car for the show. Suzuki has already announced its intention to put it into production, and says it will light in weight and boasting among the lowest CO2 emissions in its class, and boast the new generation ALL GRIP four-wheel-drive system. Suzuki will start launching the production model, based on this iV-4 concept model, at Magyar Suzuki in 2015 and will be releasing it in Europe.
