Abarth 595 50th Anniversary 1 600x351 at IAA Preview: Abarth 595 50th Anniversary Edition

Fiat and Abarth don’t really need an excuse to release a special edition of the 500, but it’s always nice to have one. The reason for the latest model, called the Abarth 595 50th Anniversary Edition, is exactly what the name suggests.

The treatment given to this rather significant special edition is simple and sober. Well, by Abarth standards at least. You get the normal Abarth body kit, garnished only with a couple of red scorpion stickers, red side stripes, and Abarth 595 50th Anniversary lettering.

Then there is the white 17-inch wheels, and that is about it for the 595 on the outside. Interior appointments are more substantial, including two-tone sport seats, sport pedal set, red trimming and contrast stitching, and a flat-bottomed sport steering wheel.

The powertrain is the renowned 180 hp 1.4-liter T-Jet engine, backed by a sport exhaust system, sport suspension, and a Brembo brakes. Abarth 595 50th Anniversary edition will be limited to 299 units.
