The new generation Mazda3 is getting a new and very advanced connectivity system that brings an Internet connection and a huge package of online services to the car. The system is designed to it complements the new interior’s human-machine interface (HMI).

Featuring a 7-inch display on top of the centre stack, the MZD Connect feature hooks up with the owner’s smartphone, expanding Mazda’s existing range of navigation and SMS features (including readout and voice recognition). What sets it apart is the availability of the Aha system.

Aha is an app that offers more than 40,000 choices of content including internet radio, news, podcasts and audio books as well as Facebook and Twitter feeds and a variety of location-based services. Not sure you really need all that stuff in your car, but they certainly are hugely appealing to the tech-savvy customers.

Apart from Aha, MZD Connect also features some useful apps developed by Mazda themselves, including Eco-display and maintenance reminders. The display is designed to be convenient and easy to use, just like the Active Driving Display, Mazda’s new head-up display that minimises distraction potential.

The range of available services and apps for MZD Connect system will grow over time. So it is only a matter of time before you can play Angry Birds on it.
