In a patriotic act Subaru is treating their Japanese customers with a very special edition of the BRZ sports car. Dubbed Subaru BRZ Premium Sport, the car features a number of styling bits and accessories goodies that are normally what you’d get from an aftermarket specialist, all designed in-house by STI.
On top of the list, and besides the special body color, there is the STI 17 inch wheels finished in black. The same color is also featured on the wing mirrors, giving the BRZ a sportier look. The two-ton effect continues inside with leather-wrapped steering wheel in Tan / Black with Tan stitch, and tan leather seats with green stitching.
What’s more, you get stitched leather on armrests, handbrake lever, shift booth, and some other knobs and dials. These details give the BRZ’s interior that sense of luxury and refinement it so badly needed.
It’s not all sweetness and light though, as some of the details are somewhat tacky; details such as the carbon-like instrument panel and red start button. But the satin silver decorative trim pieces found on the steering wheel spokes, instrument panel center side, shift panel, door handle, air conditioning dial and switch, front door speaker ring does improve the cabin significantly.
Prices for the Subaru BRZ Premium Sport in the Japanese Domestic Market, the only place where it will be available, start from 3,034,500 yen.
