Following a very intriguing video that announced the arrival of the new Porsche Macan after reminding us why Porsche is such a magnificent brand, the German car maker has now released some pictures of the Macan’s prototypes doing some testing in various conditions.

These official spyshots, if you will, do not reveal the entire car, but they do give you an idea of the size and proportions of the Macan. It seems to be just as big as the Range Rover Evoque, but one would be forgiven for easily mistaking it for its bigger brother, the Cayenne.

Porsche Macan will certainly offer the best drive in this segment, seeing as how the bigger and heavier Cayenne is the king of the large SUV class when it comes to drivability and handling. The Macan is lighter, smaller, and more agile. And with a selection of powerful engines – which is said to include a supercharged V6 and even a turbocharged four-cylinder – it will be fast as well.

2015 Porsche Cayenne will make its official debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show next month.
