Skoda revealed the prices and specs of its new mini estate car, the Rapid Spaceback, for the British market. Available in three trim levels of S, SE and Elegance, this version of the Rapid starts from £14,340 and offers a ton of features, which means it is good value.

Being a proper family car, the Skoda Rapid Spaceback comes with a large panoramic glass roof and extended tailgate glass, which not only make the cabin more airy, they also give the car a unique look.

The engine lineup includes three petrol and two diesel units with power outputs ranging from 86PS to 122PS, available with either a manual or an advanced DSG automatic transmission. There is also a Greenline version with brake energy recovery and start/stop, good for CO₂ emissions of just 99g/km.

As for the specification, airconditioning is standard across the line-up, along with curtain airbags, front electric windows and a height and reach adjustable steering column. SE models feature alloy wheels, acoustic rear parking sensors, cruise control and a Bluetooth telephone connection, while Elegance models add, among other items, climate control, height-adjustable passenger seat and cornering front fog lights. With only a few grand on top of the starting price, you can get a fully loaded model with all the toys you could ever want in a car.
