Toyota Joins Matt Damon at Environmental Media Awards

We never thought a man who can play Jason Bourne so convincingly could be such a massive environmentalist, but he is. We’re talking about Matt Damon, who is going to be honored for his efforts at this year’s Environmental Media Awards at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California.

Due to the nature of the ceremony, which is probably the least glamorous Hollywood event, Toyota and Lexus are picked as the main sponsors, providing green cars to please the high-profile guests. The 2013 Lexus LS 600h L and CT 200h hybrid vehicles will be featured at the ceremony, along with the 2013 all-electric RAV4 EV and Prius Plug-in Hybrid.  Attendees will also get the inside scoop on the Toyota hydrogen fuel cell vehicle, coming to market in 2015.

Ever since Toyota made the Prius the brand became a celebrity favorite, and even though there are better green offerings on the market these days, they try to keep up the relationship with efforts like this. Where else would Toyota be associated with names like author Bill McKibben, actor Matt Damon, and actresses Hayden Panettiere and Anna Getty?

The Nominees for the 23rd annual Environmental Media Awards include films such as Promised Land, The Guilt Trip and Gasland II, and TV programs such as Modern Family, Portlandia, House of Cards, Real Time with Bill Maher and Dallas.
