Chrysler’s 2013 SEMA lineup includes a couple of very special Challenger models. This is one of them, the 2014 Dodge Challenger R/T Shaker, reviving yet another one of Dodge’s legendary badges. This car pays homage to the original 1970 Challenger R/T with the Shaker hood.

Besides the functional Shaker hood with Mopar cold-air intake, This Challenger features a 5.7 liter HEMI V8, ready to be fiddled with by muscle car buffs. The car comes as standard with conical air filter and optimized air box, driver-selectable sport-mode powertrain calibration, performance-tuned suspension, four-wheel disc brakes and steering calibration, high-performance steering gear, brake linings and monotube shock absorbers, P245/45R20 Goodyear Eagle F1 Super Car three-season tires and three-mode electronic stability control (ESC).

So come to think of it, there is not much enthusiasts can do to the car apart from trying to add more and more horsepower. That makes the Shaker a proper muscle car.

Visual features of the Dodge Challenger R/T Shaker include Satin Black deck-lid spoiler, body-color grille surround and Gloss Black fuel-filler door, and 20 x 8-inch polished-face aluminum wheels with black pockets and a satin “matte” clear coat, plus some Shaker badges. Inside, you get a three-spoke flat-bottom leather-wrapped performance steering wheel with black accent finish, “K-Black” painted instrument panel and center-console bezel for a discrete look, Nappa leather upholstery with contrast stitching, aluminum pistol-grip shifter, and more Shaker badges.

Prices for the 2014 Challenger R/T start from $36,995 when it arrives at Dodge dealerships in the first-quarter of 2014.
