Ford announced the addition of a new and technologically-advanced version of the Fiesta to the UK range of the successful super mini. The model in question is not only powered by the award-winning 1.0 liter EcoBoost engine with an output of 100 PS, it also gets Ford’s six-speed dual-clutch PowerShift automatic transmission.
The combination of the two technologies allows the Ford Fiesta 1.0 Liter EcoBoost PowerShift to do 57.7mpg and emit no more than 114g/km Co2. The three-cylinder engine uses cutting-edge technologies including direct fuel injection, turbocharging and variable valve timing to deliver the power of a larger engine with the fuel efficiency of a smaller engine.
This Fiesta model is distinguished over normal versions by the virtues of its dynamic exterior and interior styling, and the list of its tech features, which include Active City Stop and Ford’s SYNC voice-activated in-car connectivity system with emergency assistant.
The Ford Fiesta became Europe’s best-selling small car in September and for the first nine months of 2013, with 33,561 units leaving the dealerships in September alone. During the nine month period Ford has shifted 222,184 Fiestas. UK continues to be the best European market for the Fiesta, with more than 104,619 cars sold.
