It is hardly a secret that Jaguar is developing an all-new mid-size sedan to go after the likes of BMW 3- Series and Mercedes C-Class with. In fact, they have been busy with this project for years. Now though, the car is in its final stages of development, which means it’s probably the right time to start speculating about it.

Here’s a simple rendering of what the new Jaguar mid-size sports sedan, allegedly called the XS, will look like from the back. The front-end will undoubtedly have something of the XF/XJ family about it, with cat-like headlights and a big, round grille. The back-end, on the other hand, is said to be inspired more by the F-Type range. You can clearly see the connection in those beautiful taillights. The new Jaguar SUV also uses a similar design.

This is of course an artist’s impression of the 2015 Jaguar XS. To see the real thing we are going to have to wait a few more months. Will the baby Jag saloon be able to beat the 3-Series in its own game?
