Lamborghini is currently hard at work developing an all-new model to replace the Gallardo with next year. And as we’ve seen with the Aventador, Lambo’s all-new is indeed all-new. Save the profile, chances are the Gallardo replacement, known as the Lamborghini Cabrera, won’t share a single thing with the outgoing model.
With that in mind, and based on the latest spyshots, automotive artist Wild Speed has come up with these renderings of what he thinks will be the final looks of the Cabrera. We certainly hope he is wrong though, because this car here is just not pretty enough to be a Gallardo successor. You can see plenty of Aventador in it, but nothing particularly interesting. It is a good effort, nonetheless.
Lamborghini’s design department rarely disappoints, which is why we are more concerned about the Cabrera’s technicalities. Will Audi let Lambo to update the existing V10? Will they make the Italians to use their brilliant new V8 found in cars like the RS6? Only time, and leaked information, will answer those questions.
