What happens is the car maker sends the official pictures to a selection of print magazines for publishing in the upcoming issue, and then they first appear on the net because someone is click happy.

These shots of the 2015 Ford Mustang, brought to you courtesy of Autoweek magazine, confirms the Fusion-inspired styling which is supposed to make the Mustang more globally appealing. It definitely does that, but it also takes away from the car its iconic look, its character, its personality.

The profile of the car is still very Mustang-like, and the grilles are properly big. But the round headlights of the Mustang are gone in the new model. The idea is to give the car a closer look to the rest of Ford’s lineup by using signature design cues like those headlights. They work well on a Fiesta, and a Fusion, but the Mustang? We’re not sure.
