The whole world is eagerly waiting for the new generation of acura NSX to be released and give the cheeky Nissan GT-R a bloody nose. But it’s not ready yet – at least for real roads. It is good to go in the virtual world though, as Honda/Acura confirmed the car’s presence in the Gran Turismo 6 video game.

There used to be a time when game makers had to go to a lot of trouble to obtain the license to use real-world cars in their creations. But these days as popularity of video gaming is peaking, it’s the car makers who have to please the studios to feature the cars in their games. And no other car game is in such high demand as the Gran Turismo 6.

Experiencing the new Acura NSX in Gran Turismo 6 will be quite awesome, but you won’t get any ideas how the car’s Super Handling All-Wheel Drive affects cornering, or if the hybrid powertrain really does offer as good a compromise between performance and economy as Acura says. For that, which really is the meat of the driving experience, you have to wait for the real thing to arrive in 2015.

Speaking of Acura NSX’s sport hybrid drivetrain, the system consists of three electric motors – one motor integrated with the V-6 engine and its all-new dual-clutch transmission (DCT) driving the rear wheels, and two high-output electric motors driving the front wheels. This makes the car four-wheel-drive, complemented with torque vectoring.
