The Jaguar Academy of Sport Annual Awards ceremony this year had a very special guest that made the whole thing more interesting. It was the new Jaguar F-Type Coupe which popped by for an exclusive UK preview ahead of its official launch.in February next year. The car was the most beautiful thing on the red carpet that night.

The new Coupe version of the F-Type is somehow more desirable than the drop-top version. That is probably because the F-Type was initially designed as a coupe, so it looks more together this way. Or it could be because the Coupe comes with a beefed-up R version that the convertible doesn’t get.

The Jaguar F-Type Coupe R it’s called, and it features a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine in 550PS/680Nm tune, delivering acceleration to 60mph in 4.0-seconds, and a top speed of 186mph (electronically limited). Bit too much? No worries. Jag offers two V6s as well. The 3.0-litre V6 supercharged petrol engine comes in 380PS/460Nm and 340PS/450Nm tunes, giving 0-60mph in 4.8/5.1-seconds and top speeds of 171/161mph, respectively.

As for the awards ceremony itself, some sports men and women got some trophies! That’s all we know about it. Sir Dave Brailsford, Jaguar Academy of Sport Ambassador said: “I’ve always had a fantastic experience with Jaguar, and the support they provide to Team Sky is totally invaluable. The F-TYPE Coupé looks incredible here on the red carpet tonight.”
