Porsche 991 Targa Render 600x337 at Rendering: Porsche 991 Targa

Last week and thanks to some leaked patent documents we got to catch out first glimpse of the new Porsche 911 (991) Targa. But those grainy, black and white pictures were not very pleasing, which is why Photoshop gurus at XTomi Design came up with this rendering that gives us a nice, colored view of the car.

Here we can appreciate the details of the Porsche 991 Targa better. It mixes the modern styling of the 991 with some iconic classic cues borrowed from early Targa models. The silver pillar and the large curvy rear window are the main highlights of the Targa, and the elements giving it a swell retro look. The car reportedly boasts a fabric roof that fold down in a sort of cubbyhole underneath that iconic pillar.

You can expect to see the Porsche 991 Targa in your local Porsche showroom sometime in 2015. The way the 911 family is organized, it should come after all the normal Carrera, GT3, Turbo, and GT2 models are launched.

After the Targa we can expect a Speedster version of the 991, and after that maybe a GTS. In between all these, there will be a couple of special editions to spice things up.
