Ford announced that their fuel-efficient EcoBoost engines will finally make their aftermarket debut at this year’s Autosport International in Birmingham. The engines will be available to tuners, coachbuilders, racing teams, independent manufacturers and the like through Ford Component Sales (FCS).
FCS will display a range of turbo-powered, direct-injection EcoBoost engines at the Autosport, including award-winning 1.0 liter unit which is predicted to be the most popular engine on offer. The range also includes 1.6 liter and 2.0 liter units, as well as 3.5 liter V6s.
The EcoBoost range will complement the lineup of crate engines offered by Ford, with capacities from 1.0 to 9.0 liters and in three-cylinder to V8 configurations. The choices of fuel, transmission and drivetrain include petrol, diesel, flexifuel and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), five and six-speed manual and automatic transmissions, and front- and rear-wheel-drive.
Among the biggest names who have benefited from Ford aftermarket parts in the past we can mention Morgan, Caterham, Ginetta, Boom Trikes and Radical.
