Czech car maker announced the launch of two new special edition version of the Rapid hatchback in the British market, each packed full of features. Adding value to their cars is just about the only way car makers like Skoda can possibly score more sales. And they’ve become very good at it.
The first of the two, the Rapid SE Connect, offers an astonishing £3,665 worth of extra equipment for just £12,990 on the road. It is based on the Rapid 1.2-litre TSI 86PS SE model, but it comes with two metallic paint jobs of Brilliant Silver or Denim Blue, new 16-inch ‘Antia’ alloy wheels, rear parking sensors and an Amundsen satellite navigation with DAB digital radio.
Skoda Rapid SE Connect is limited to 800 units.
The second special edition Skoda is the Rapid Sport, and it costs dearer than the Connect – starting at £15,630 on the road – mainly because it is based on the 1.2-litre TSI 105PS SE model. Extras on this model include 17-inch ‘Ray’ black alloy wheels, sunset glass, front fog lights, sports seats, steel pedals, black door mirrors and a rear spoiler, representing a total value of £1,250.
Skoda Rapid Sport is limited to just 200 units.
