Subaru Levorg Looks Good in Motion

Subaru Levorg 600x323 at Subaru Levorg Looks Good in Motion

Subaru is not really a byword for beautiful styling. The beauty of the design is usually third or forth on their list of priorities after practicality, reliability, and performance. Every once in a while though, they come up with something that not only satisfies the aforementioned criteria, it also looks rather brilliant. The new Subaru Levorg is certainly one of those occasions.

The Levorg was conceived as a tourer from the get go, and tourer, or estate, cars are not inherently pretty. However, Subaru designers have done a good job coming up with a tourer that is easy on the eyes while maintaining the brand’s characteristic features such as the hood scoop or sculpted hips. And as good as the Levorg looks standing still, it looks even better in motion:

Revealed as a concept at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show, the new Subaru Levorg will soon go on sale in Japan, with Europe to follow in a few months. The car comes as standard with a 1.6-liter Horizontally-Opposed direct injection turbo “DIT” engine, but you can also opt for a 12.0-liter turbo unit. The former is good for 170 horsepower, while the latter makes 300. For the 1.6-liter DIT, lightweight and compact Lineartronic has been adopted. The two modes of “SI-DRIVE” realize the best gear control for fuel efficiency and driving enjoyment.
