The last of Toyota’s offerings at the 2014 Tokyo Auto Salon that is somewhat relative to customers in Europe and America is this, the Toyota Harrier G Sports concept. The Harrier is the Japanese version of what you and I know as the Lexus RX. So this is what an RX looks like when it goes completely mad.
The car has a strong Japanese flavor which might not look very nice to us, but they love it down there. It features massive air intakes and a sort of 3D front grille, along with large smoked lights and a full aero kit.
Toyota Harrier G Sports comes with lowered suspension, new front and rear bumpers, LED lights, new bodywork elements and 19-inch alloys. The interior also receives G’s attention in form of carbon fiber trims, suede accenting, and sport pedals.
The main performance upgrade offered for it is extra spot welding and bracing that boosts the car’s rigidity for sportier handling. Although, how big a difference that makes in a big and soft SUV such as this, we have no idea. Perhaps combined with the sport lowered suspension it would enable the car to go round corners with a bit more dignity.
