Toyota UK announced a range of updates for the 2014 RAV4 SUV, which is on sale across Britain. The new model brings higher specification for Icon and Invincible grades, new options including Toyota Touch 2 touchscreen multimedia system, and the availability of all-wheel-drive system for the popular 2.0 D-4D model.

The 2.0 D-4D is one of the most fuel efficient version of the Toyota RAV4, delivering 122bhp (91kW) and 310 nm of torque; 137g/km CO2; and 53.3mpg average fuel consumption. The addition of an all-wheel-drive system increases the car’s versatility by giving it decent off-road capabilities. This model starts from £25,695.

As for the new features and equipment, the Icon model now comes as standard with keyless entry and easy push-button start and two-tone 18-inch alloy wheels, plus dual-zone climate control automatic headlights and wipers, cruise control, DAB digital tuner, heated retractable door mirrors and an auto-dimming rear-view mirror. The Invincible model comes with a choice of black or beige leather seat upholstery. New options for 2014 include a Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

One of the highlights of the 2014 Toyota RAV4 is the debut of Toyota Touch 2 infotainment system. Featuring a full map navigation, the Touch 2 system has advanced features such as real-time traffic information to warn of congestion ahead, speed limit indications and safety camera warnings, plus Google Street View and Panoramio. Toyota Touch 2 are free for the first 12 months.
